How did you get into debt?
An audit by the IRS leading to extensive accounting bills and back taxes. An illegal action from the owner of my studio building that resulted in legal bills, and student debt.

How does your economic reality effect your art?
I feel very fortunate to produce as much work as I do. And despite debt I am able to produce a lot of work that I am very proud of. I also have the luxury of working in my studio 40 hours a week.
Would your work look different if you weren't in debt?:
I would be producing final versions of many of the long term projects I have outlined.
