Yes, mostly student loans, with some credit card debt accrued mainly while I was in school or moving. I also have car debt from when my car completely broke down and I needed to purchase a new vehicle.

I make a living teaching adjuct at a community college. There, I teach two studio classes in the fall. In the spring, I teach one studio art course and one art appreciation course; my teaching salary decreases quite a bit in the spring. I work at least thirty hours per week at a part-time job, increasing those hours over the summer. I teach occasional workshops and try to teach workshops in the summer (2-3). I also sell some production jewelry and other work occassionally. Lastly, to bring it all together, I babysit for some friends consistently one night per week and other times as needed.

Debt affects my time and opportunities to be in the studio to make and develop my work. It slows me down tremendously.
