Yes, I'm in debt. I am in debt due to taking out a combination of private and public student loans to attend a four year private university art school. In addition, I've taken out credit cards to cover cost of everyday living expenses such as car repairs, utilities, healtcare, groceries, etc.
How do you make a living?
I am the sole source of income for my family. I work 60 plus hours a week. I live paycheck to paycheck. It's stressful and anxiety ridden. I work in warehouse logistics as a shipping and receiving production specialist.
How does your debt affect your art practice?
I've come to find beauty in the commonplace and everyday utilitarian object. After being used in a piece, I often use the material.
How does your economic reality effect your art?
