How did you get into debt?
Trying to keep making art but not having enough money to fund materials, rent, shipping costs, printing costs
How does your economic reality effect your art?
The more freelance work I need to do, the less time I have to make art. A big part of my practice is photographing for hours around the city and not having the time makes me less productive. Furthermore, I have to make decisions about whether I'm spending rent money on materials and processing film, or if I'm actually going to pay rent. I find myself choosing to pay rent.
Would your work look different if you weren't in debt?:
No - but debt prevents me from working in a larger format prints and to have my work framed.
