I have been a single mother for ten years. Raising two kids and returning to school, I took out the maximum amount of loans and charged many of my bills on credit cards. Credit card and past due medical bills have begun to pile up. We recently sold an inherited home.
I am a writer, artist, and independent contractor; my jobs vary from medical scan tech to bankruptcy law to hospitality and theatre. I'm all across the board, saving what I can.
Found objects are a dream come true. I find old canvas and repaint, have made frames out of my son's Ikea bed, and also wood from nature. Many of my oils are hand-me-down and the acrylic is usually cheap. Pencils, markers, crayons, pastels, and paper fill the gaps of cracks and crevices to 'save paint'. (Oy, i feel cheapo.) Photography and editing trials rank HIGH on my easy peasy list.
