Technically yes. I am halfway through a Chapter 13 Bankruptcy, so I still have to pay $75 per month for a couple more years, but my payments used to be over $1000 per month, so now it is very manageable. I racked up about $30,000 in credit card debt by living like a human being when I did not make human money in the years right after college.
I have a day job teaching 9th grade art in a public school. I also teach adult art classes, and I sell my work.
When I was making $1000+ payments per month to creditors I was totally broke and had a hard time buying materials. Now, I make decent money, but I still cannot afford to produce a speculative high-end line of jewelry without considerable risk and dificulty. Also important, though, is the fact that I have been fortunate enough to have several day jobs that have given me the opportunity to work with new materials and force me to be creative in ways I probably wouldn't otherwise. This has actually contributed positively to my practice quite a bit.
